    Don't know whether this fits here, but I browse and enter as many free on-line competitions as you never know what you might get for nothing.

    We have some very effective LED downlighters at work, but they cost £80 each so would have to save a lot of bulbs!

        Get a big freezer we have a huge chest freezer and it allows us to buy things on special offer and freeze. (Just raided a certain supermarket for half price legs of lamb - cheaper than a free range chicken) We buy all our fruit and veg (obviously what we don't grow - such as oranges) at our local market and its much cheaper, especially after 1pm on a Saturday
        Oh and take a packed lunch to work.

          There are some very high efficiency large chest freezers that use no more electricity than a less efficient one with half the capacity. Expensive to buy, but have to save on running costs (and CO2).
          The snag is that you need somewhere to put it.......
          Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
