Hopefully there will be good news this evening from Wellie.

Even though my OH was the solicitor dealing with our last sale and purchase we still ended up sitting outside in the van waiting for the vendors to move out and trying to sell us bits of furniture they couldn't be bothered to move!

I had loads of tantrums and enjoyed every one!
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Okay.... I've had a completely cr@p day, so just don't ask, whatever you do!!
All of your lovely comments on my thread here gave me a really good start to my day, and I did phone my solicitor at 9am and left a message on their answerphone, because nobody picked the phone up. I eventually got my call returned by 11am, so phoned Trousers to tell him the non-progress.

To take my mind off it, I went and did a food shop for the weekend/next week, and having unloaded my embarrassingly more booze than food onto the conveyor (note to self: really really HATE supermarkets - only go once a month) the tannoy comes over the airwaves, with 'Would the owner of the green landrover, registration de-da-de-da-de-da, not my real numberplate, obviously(!) please come to Customer Services'.

Oh God! Someone's hit my truck? But no. I had parked my truck like A Complete Git, so that the driver of the vehicle next to me hadn't got a poke in hell's chance of ever getting in on the drivers' side? If it had been me, I would have climbed in on the passeneger-side and engineered my way over the gearstick, but obviously, that was way too intelligent for this particular pair of Numpties.... And I didn't have a problem apologising and rectifying the situation, but was told in no uncertain Welsh terms by HER that it was 'WELL too tight', and then by HIM, that I shouldn't be so Arrogant, so I took a spray of Bach Rescue Remedy, and moved the offending vehicle, only pausing momentarily to sob into my very uninteresting Prawn & Mayonnaise sandwich?

By which time, when I returned into said supermarket, my shopping had been processed, packed and trollied, and awaited my payment. Cool!

Then I went to the Garden Centre to collect stuff that I'd ordered. And having loaded up my trolley with a veritable 'feast' of empty cardboard boxes that were going begging, the 'expected' happened as I got out of the automatic doors, the wind blew, and scattered my boxes all over the carpark! But a Knight in Shining Armour came to my rescue, bless you kind Sir, and your wife for waiting - I am most grateful.

So! I had a hugely welcomed phonecall from my solicitor's office late this afternoon, saying that my Vendor's solicitor informs that with one more 'dotting of the I's, and crossing of the T's'.....Exchange is due for Monday. So you'll just have to 'watch this space' a teeny weeny bit longer, if you want A Result !

I have to just add, that those of you out there with the kind of sense of humour similar to mine, have completely 'blown my frock up' today with your wit.
THAT's what's made my day and kept me marginally 'sane'.
So I thank you from the heart of my bottom, as it were.

PS. Get well soon Peter Rabbit! I've got lots more where that one came from....

I'm totally impressed that you drive a truck. I still miss mine.

        Rock on Wellie.

Congratulations on the big move afoot (I haven't had a chance to congratulate you yet) - I saw the piccies of the farm on HollyCottage site and it looks fab.

I empathise with you (we had probs too but got sorted) but I know that you'll make full use of your collections today to make progress with the packing, and then even fuller use of the purchases from earlier and relax with trousers......

And see yourselves into the new rooms, grounds and life in the farm. Good luck next week.

It's not a 'truck' it's a Land Rover! Loads of us drive them! No offence intended, but no-one calls a Porsche Cayenne, or a Mercedes M Class a 'Truck,' so why a Land Rover?

(...No, I don't want to go sit in Waynes flippin' Zen Garden - it's far too tidy lol - I'd like to wheel-spin in the neatly raked gravel though!...)

Land Rover do (or did anyway) in the good ole US of A, to get around tax / import / mpg regulations that meant if they called Range Rovers "Trucks" instead of Cars they could sell them, as cars they could not.
A British Prime Minister (Major?) on a visit had to very quickly backtrack on a congratulatory comment "Yes it's a very nice car." after some quick earholing by an accompanying aide or LR rep, to "Truck, I mean Truck it's a very nice Truck.".

The Range Rover in question frankly didn't give a damm.

                        Please don't fight Children?!

I've ALWAYS called my vehicle 'my truck', which Trousers will happily confirm to being the truth for at least the last nine years... and if anyone still wants to make an issue with that, I can send my cat round?!
Actually, I'm going to bury my truck in the biggest hole that I can dig, as soon as I can dig it. And I don't care if I hurt its' feelings! It's not done itself any favours whatsoever since we rescued it from a dealer in Wales.

Just to give you an example.... one day, it completely refused to allow my key to be put in the lock on the drivers' door, so we had to drill the lock out?
And let me tell you, that's only one of it's MINOR offences my friends!

I can somehow, see a Peter Rabbit about to Jump Up and Down, but mine's a way way inferior truck to his, and Trousers reckons mine was a Flood Damage one. Seriously.

GLUTTON - naughty wheel spinning in the Zen garden you'll give us Landie drivers a bad name - off to the Norty Step with you

Wellie - I'm sooooooo sorry that things have been stressful, somehow it always seems to be a nightmare even when a sale is going to plan something upsets someone down the line. Best to take a weekend's breather and don't go giving yourself a heart attack on Monday, dotting Is and crossing Ts are pretty long winded when it comes to solicitors

A funny story for you 'truck' drivers - during the snow storm that hit London there was a car which got stuck on the snow/ice on the side of the road. The police asked a 4x4 driver going past to help the car get 'unstuck'. Said car had one of those "ban 4x4s" stickers on his car so the 4x4 driver flatly refused to help him! The police said they could understand, and so that car stayed well and truly stuck for a very, very long time!!!!

                                faerieprincess, I like your style!

And YES! off to the Naughty Step, and Cut Off Their Heads! said Wellie, now completely full of Pinot Grigio of a Friday Night! Actually, things are pretty calm here in the cottage: Trousers has just abandoned the sofa for a comfy bed, and the cat's just come in and taken his place on the sofa. How synchronised is THAT!!
