BST confusion

Ok so, the clocks go forward tomorrow night/Sunday morning - I get that - but, what is now (today) 0530hrs brings light - come Monday morning what was (yesterday, are you keeping up?) 0530hrs (and light) will then be 0630hrs and dark

what will be 05.30 on Sunday would have been 04.30 if the clocks hadn't gone forward - hence still dark. I promise that by 06.30 it will be the same light level as 05.30 on Saturday

I just have to decide if I'm gonna be "nice Nurse" and let my patients stay in bed or "nasty Nurse" and boot them all up for obs!!

Or you could cheat (like I do) and put the clocks forward before going to bed early - that way same time in bed.

Is there any good reason why we still have this rigmarole of putting the clocks back and forth???? I understand the need during the war years etc. but does it serve any useful purpose nowadays?

I think the line they use these days is that they dont want school children coming home in the dark.
