milestone birthdays...

I am 35 this year. I know this is not really a milestone birthday but OH is talking about doing something different for it this year. When I turned 30 I had only had a baby (c-section) a week or so so before and wasn't really up to much celebrating.

I booked OH a plane flying lesson for his 35th as we weren't together when he turned 30 and I thought 40 was a long time to wait lol.

I have no idea what I would really like to do.....

Any suggestions? Or tell me what special things you have done for special b-days

Go on a ride in a hot air balloon, having breakfast up in the sky watching the sun rise is breath taking,,,,,, me I WANT for my birthday is to go racing around Oulton Park in a Ferrari lolol

Im 26 but have told the family Im having a James Bond themed 30th! Tuxs or Bond villans for men and women uber glam Bond girl style.

I plan to be the golden girl in the gold bikini and Dougie will be goldfinger!!!

SWEEEEEEEET - But I have a wee while to go - Mind you I'm buying Bond stuff now!!

I HATED my 30th (sorry to shout), so for my 40th I planned my escape . We drove down to Cornwall and went to the Eden Project (fab). The following day we went to The Lost Gardens of Heligan (soooo much fabber), then spent the rest of the week at Center Parcs at Longleat. It cost us an absolute fortune! Would've been cheaper to go to foreign for a fortnight! Had the bestest time though, just the two of us - aaaaaaah!

If I was given the choice, three or four days in Cornwall to take in The Eden Project and Heligan would do for me, as I have never been and would love to go.

Failing that a romantic long weekend in Montmatre area of Paris, because I love it there

Go to Heligan - definitely. If you go to The Eden Project too, do it first or it will be a disappointment. I can't wait to go back to Heligan, even DH who isn't the least bit interested in gardens wanted to stay there!

Had a long weekend, well nearly a week, in New York for my 40th - just me and the oh, left the sons with family. I was brill and we still talk about it 9 years later.

Now planning for my 50th - a month in NZ has been mentioned!!!! It would mean leaving a 19 yr old at home alone but strangely enough he says he wouldn't mind

Week in New York for my 40th...saw the 'big 40' night in at our favourite theatre, watching a Burlesque show...and then walked/ran back to the hotel [20 blocks away] in the rain as the subway had stopped running by the time we got out.

Then, the next day, went to the Zen Palette in Union Square for lunch before flying back home.

But, also spent last birthday at Eden Project strangely enough....but preferred Heligan. Going back there this year with OH's Daughter in tow so will that will be fun.

What I want for next 'milestone' birthday is simply dinner out (not necessarily a very expensive one), but chauffeur driven in a Roller, so neither of us has to think about drinking, and I actually get to ride in the thing! (OH had a ride in a Rolls-Royce taking daughter to church when she got married, but I was busy being chauffeur in our own car)

i am going out for my 40th p..s up tomorrow night- I never expected to feel so carefree and able to laugh at myself when i got to this age!!

i went to Paris for the day with 2 girlfriends, and had lunch in the Eiffel Tower and sailed up the Seine to Notre Dame.....it was a fab day out.

I took OH to Barcelona for his 50th (he'd always wanted to see all that amazing Gaudi). OH took me to Norway to see the Northern Lights - incredible and highly recommended!

Last summer I was given a balloon trip, due to illness and carp weather haven't been yet - next try is for Easter sunday morning (fingers crossed).

A romantic weekend away is always welcome!

Ah well, if we are talking about relations milestones. OH was 50 the same day there was to be a solar eclipse... in South Africa..... We saw it!

I'll be 55 next month. The milestone for me is that if the offer of voluntary redundancy rears it's head........I'll be of an age to take it!
