Was utterly amazed after the police eventually called at the plots. Two days after the fire!! Fire brigade apparently said no police presence required as the fire was not as a result of wilful fireraising. A shed nearby broken into and these two torched and that isn't wilful? Our chairman who is ex fire service has made an official complaint. Fire brigade probably just didn't want to have to wait around for the police. Mind you, if they have a two day wait every time, who can blame them.
The other thing which surprised me was the police said they were unable to remove possible sources of evidence from the site. A bow saw and an axe thrown out of the surviving vandalised shed may well have had fingerprints on them but because the police couldn't positively identify the owners they said they were not empowered to remove them. Sounds crazy to me. Would that still have applied if there had been a murder? The toe rags who torched these sheds could now have developed a taste for arson which could well lead to murder.
