  • I'm a grown up!

I feel really grown up - I've hired my first window cleaner, and he called me Missus

I've always rented (flats) before now, and cleaned my own windows. I feel awfully lazy, but there's no way I can get up to the bedroom windows on my own.

Bless him, he's cleaning out the horrible gutters too.

        yeay, go you

wait till you sack your first window cleaner for not actually cleaning the windows but sticking a card through .... thats REALLY grown up

cheeky swine thought i wouldn't notice that the bird poop on the back window was still there after he'd supposedly cleaned them twice

So you're a Gentlewoman giving employment to an artisan? Do you know the little rhyme?
"It is the business of the Gentleman
To give employment to the Artisan."

Certainly makes you feel good, giving another person their wages!

I LOVE having a window cleaner as I HATE cleaning windows. I also bung him a coupl of extra quid and he does the INSIDE of the patiodoors too. Got two and one is 8 feet wide and a b*gger to clean.

I always make him a cuppa as I always think he will do a better job lol

As for feeling old a man told his toddler in town the other day to 'mind that lady' took me ages to realise he meant me!

lovely aren't they - window cleaners

mine often says he wants danger money at my place, cos most MQ's don't contain gardeners, but mine is full of pots, compost you name it - he has to negotiate around the lot

I keep the blinds shut. How lazy is that? Except in the spare room which is full of pots and seedlings

I have been known to go round and shut all the curtains when I see the window cleaner coming! And then do a frantic tidy up and then open them again lol. And I can't have a wee when he's here in case he pops up at the bathroom window (yes I know it's frosted...)

I bet they see some sights!

I've been almost caught in the bath a couple of times and have a mad panic jumping out and legging it into another room - problem is I tend to leave all the doors and curtains open upstairs- so it's difficult to hide!!!

Wasn't there a film called Confessions of a Window cleaner?

My old mucker was an alcoholic window cleaner. Cleaned a few windows until he had enough money for a few bevvies .............then off to the pub.

Broke more windows than he cleaned and finally killed himself falling out of a tree when he thought he was invincible after a good session on the drink.

I can laugh about it now as this happened over 20 years ago. Drink in........ wits out I suppose!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

The window cleaner was here the other day. I had just started to get dressed and luckily I heard his ladders and grabbed my clothes and dressed in the bathroom at the back of the house, no windows there lol. Its the first time I have been caught out like that, serves me right for getting dressed late in the morning.

                              *sniggers*

When Mr Shortie & I bought our first home, we were only 22. The window cleaner knocked on the door knowing the previous people had moved out, seeing if we wanted to have a window cleaner too. When I answered he asked if my Mum or Dad was in.

I think my puzzled look must have said everything.. let's just say he was a tad embarrassed

Oh and T_S everytime I see a post by you, I think of your collapsing folding wheelbarrow and sulking in your shed. It still makes me chuckle to this day (knowing it'd be the kind of thing I would do), sorry
