  • Scored for a freezer.....

In general conversation it came out that a work colleague was miffed because the local council were going to charge her £20 to take away a disused small chest freezer!

"Whats the matter with it"?,says I "Oh the hinge is broken on the lid "says she "but apart from that its ok".
I'll be around after work to pick it up says I

As it happens I had been looking for an extra chest freezer solely for my veg from lottie. As its going in the garage, I dont mind just lifting the lid on and off, or I may even fix the lid if I get time!

Should have charged her a tenner to take it away, then it would have been a REAL bargain! (Only joking!)

That's great Snadger. We had to buy a new upright one last year for all the veg from the lottie. I keep trying to defrost it but it's always full. Same for the little one. Can't be bad.

                  Did well there Snadger.

I can understand the problem I am very close to out growing our only freezer at the moment.

I would not want to fork out for a brand new one when I do because it would have to go in the garage.

My two are in my OH shed. He keeps moaning about not having enough space. I keep reminding him about all the lovely homegrown goodies in said freezers. That generally finishes the moans.

Got a fridge /freezer and a fridge in the garage. Both came from the inlaws who were changing them. Freezer used as an overflow from the house and the single fridge is used to store my fishing bait in.Have to keep them at opposite sides of the garage so there are no mistakes !
