  • Gardening Bug programme

watched it last night ....how britain got the gardening bug ....had some interesting points but it was the usual format ..facetious narrator....names in gardening talking about this and that ...could have been a very interesting sociological/historical study but i suppose that would have been too minority interest...

I watched it as well.I'm afraid I can't say a lot about the subject as I came to Britain not so long ago.It gave me general idea how it look like but it was "shallow" knowledge-just a few general ideas.I liked the programme but it left me...I don't know...expecting more???

I quite liked it. I don't think it claimed to be anything other than a light hearted general overview. It was nice to see old clips of Percy Thrower (gardening in a suit and tie, of course!) and lovely Geoff Hamilton. I'd have preferred more of those than the 'talking heads' though.

It kept three generations of my family entertained (me, my dad and my eldest daughter) which not many tv progs would

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery

"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I'm not questioning the programme itself,I never heard about the guy,I saw him 1st time last night but I thought"how can you go gardening wearing your official gear?

I hate to say that as a family we "Tea and Pee".

I get a look at a Garden Centre and they get a cream tea....we never buy anything. But all walk round saying
"Cor look at the price of that...much cheaper at the allotment shop"
"My Pumpknins are bigger than that", "how Much"

I thought it was a great program....compaired to the other tut that is on these days.
