Just thought I'd ask if anyone else signed up to this via Channel 4 a while ago. I've just had an email to say the site is live and how to sign in. Problem is, when making the listing it rejects my postcode, and there's no instructions what to do. This address has existed for 4.5 years now and is usually recognised in the postcade database. Also it says to change password and username in profile, but there doesn't seem to be a link to it on the page I see. I would be interested if others have been successful.

Hi Barley Sugar
for the purposes of signing up, could you use a different address - say an old one, or a town hall or something, and then in your ad give the real details?
just thinking outside the box kind of.
looks like a really good idea - i hadn't heard of itIamhanuman

We used to have problem when we first moved here with the postcode, because it was a new one, and did not exist on the databases of postcodes used by different organisations. Most have now got it sorted, but some still use the out of date ones . Haven't got anything that could be confused in it.I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

I signed up last year when it started, tried to sign in and it tells me my password is wrong, asked it to send my password to my email, three days and still waiting.
Can't sign up again as it says my email is already used, and I'm not setting up a new email just for this.

email them at landshare@channel4.com
They should be able to identify the problema nd fix it, or at least find a way to get you on the system until they can fix it.
Try a postcode very similar to yours, but change a last few letter eg. AB12 3CD to AB12 3CE or AB12 3CJ. Might be another postcode near you. I am sure a few hundred metres is nothing to be worried about.BW

I like to try, might not get far, but I like to try.

Well I managed to do a listing, but it's saying that I live in a village about 7 miles away from where I really am, whose post code starts with different numbers than mine, which is quite annoying... I've checked that I put the right number in 3 times, but it makes no difference! Think they might still have 1 or 2 glitches in the system...

I got the email today and signed in OK. Posted my listing and now waiting to see what happens next.
I got the impression when the scheme was launched last year that they would be more proactive about linking people.Digger-07

It's a good idea, just noone in my area with any land
Reading some of the posts of those offering "land" that some of them think it's a free gardening scheme, could be wrong that's the trouble with short written messages they are open to interpretations that might not be there
