Not had Rhubarb since I was a kid. Mr C loves the stuff and hope to plant some on the lottie this year. Bit of a dim question, but when is the best time to plant etc?
glutton4 regards the flower, you cut it off,if you look in fruit, titled rhubarb flower, there is a thread on the subject,it's bad for the plant to let it grow

Gardening ..... begins with daybreak

My Dad LOVED stewed rhubarb. Didn't need a crumble topping or a pie crust for him. At this time of year he always kept a bowl of stewed rhubarb in the fridge and would have it for breakfast or for a pud after dinner. I never cook a pan of rhubarb but I think of him with a smile.
