At the risk of highlighting my lack of knowledge of all things flora, what is it, a Dahlia?
you got it its a Dahlia I love them cos along with roses they were my dads favourite.
I now have loads some have new shoots and I am going to take cuttings.
Lay the tuber in a seed tray so the tip is showing ( hard to explain that bit ) when they shoot take a knife and cut them off ( dont tear it or break it off ) as low as you can, take off the bottom two leaves and you can put about five in a ten inch pot pop into a plastic bag and evey other day invert the bag. When big enough plant into the garden or large pots. Protect from frost. They will come up again and again.
Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache
