I Don't think the Mondeo would be up to it,as our American friend stated you need a car that can stop!!!

If you are gonna do it, do it right... get a Hummer...!!!

A Mondeo may possibly be up to the weight you would need to check spec and do the maths thoroughly, Ste' me thinks a Hummer would be just a tad too OTT as would a 5.6l. Nicos has got a point, Herts County every year - nightmare for lorries et al - the tractors make a fortune. There are some 4x4s that are not so guzzly such as a Freelander that would tow a Welsh and another pony. I drive Defenders for practicality - work and they are handy for towing a trailer with another Landy on it .

SESA is right it is not only the abilty to pull that is required but the ability to stop.

You will get thru a few brake disks/drums trying to stop that lot.

            Is the trailer braked?

Make sure what ever you get that the tow bar is the correct height for the trailer other wise the backend of your car will be lifted up with the weight of the horses. It also gives you big problems when you try to hitch on and someone has to jump on the trailer because the tow hook is too low. The trailer should have brakes on it.
