Hi, don't know if anyone has the answer but i've just moved to a small wooden cottage and it's FREEZING! I have central heating but even today i feel like i need to be under a duvet! (heating not on) Is this normal? And how can i make next winter warmer? help please before i succumb to hyperthermia!

Sounds like you need some serious insulation! How thick are the walls?
I spent some time living in a wood cabin with only two inches of cedarwood between me and the elements. Winters would have killed me had I not had my trusty electric blanket, and in the height of summer the place turned into a sauna!
Are you an owner occupier or renting? If the latter I'd have a word with your landlord.
In the mean-time, dress appropriately - Wooly socks, bobble hat, fingerless mittens - whatever it takes! When the Devil gives you Cowpats - make Satanic Compost!

If you need to measure the thickness of a wall that has no opening, measure the distance of a corner from an opening in adjoining wall. Take the measurement inside and out, and subtract.....Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
