Quick fix lawn repair?

Any ideas on a quick fix for my lawn? Got a lot of bald patches from Chickens, kids and holes been dug by the afore mentioned kids and dog.....

I was thinking maybe topsoil and new turf but would like the minimal work ( no digging existing lawn! )

Can i put these on top of the existing grass as it would fill the holes and would mean no digging!!

I can let the chooks get the grass down a bit ( i'm sure they are eyeing it up already, licking their beaks with glee!! ) but would really like to get it done this weekend.

Afraid there's only one way to do it right and it involves digging . Anything else will just be a quick fix that wont last .
Personally I'd -
1 - Spray off the remaining grass using Roundup - optional depending on your views on herbicides.Other wise hire a turf cutter and strip the lawn .
2- Dig it over as deep as you can to losen up the soil and provide drainage .
3- Rotovate it to break up the lumps and create a nice fine seed bed.
4- Rake it to level and remove large stones .
5- Sow grass seed and rake it in to the top inch of the soil.
6- A light roll to firm up the soil.
At all times avoid working the soil if its wet or raining .
If you have a high % of clay add sand ,or FYM (Farm Yard Manure) at stage 2

Bare patches can be reseeded, but holes require 'the full works' as above.
