Talking about vinyls - does anybody know if it's possible to get them put onto CDs ? I've got loads I'd love to listen to again - might even surprise the kids

If you have seperate turntable you should be able to use the line out from this into your soundcard & capture it crackles & all - probably easier to just buy them on cd though - less hassle.

Thanks for that - unfortuantely the old turntable got slung years ago. Didn't think of itunes. The kids use itunes all the time so I'll get them to do it for me.

Yep ... someone here in Shetland does it, so must be easily to find on the Mainland. We are getting quite a few of ours done for posterity - and so we can listen to them again

Is anyone like me - I can sing all the Simon & Garfunkel songs with the scratches on my record - get quite caught out when I hear the proper version on the radio

                      Hi Martini
It's possible to put old vinyl records onto CDs. You need a software programme to convert the recordings onto your computer; I used MAGIX AUDIO 3, but there are others out there as well. It's a slow process though as everything is done in real time, but once you've recorded and cleaned your recordings and burnt them to CDs it's worth the time and effort. You can also convert the recordings into MP3 files and leave them on your computer. I haven't disposed of my old vinyl LPs though just in case some of them become collectors items in the future.

Sorry about that Martini; I must stop jumping through threads; didn't read that you'd got rid of your turntable; but that's the process you'd have to follow.

Thanks very much Skegblade - I might invest in a turntable 9or put on Christmas List). I'm hanging onto the vinyls too - keep telling the kids they'll be worth a fortune one day. Got Imagine complete with the poster and other Beatles stuff. Also got original Penny Lane single albeit a bit scratched!
