My mom-in-law hurt herself( or so she thought) beginning of last week moving a paving slab in the garden. She's been pottering around a lot in it over the last few months. Anyhow's she was complaining she thought she pulled something moving the slab. by Thursday morning she was off to the doc's as was not getting any better.
Doc prodded around a bit and sends her straight off to have a scan. The scan shows a lump the size of a 2 litre coke bottle
To cut a long story short, she had it removed on Tuesday.... it weighed 19lbs!double
Unfortunately as it was difficult to remove, the doctors accidentally sliced right through her urinary tube....so she now has a stent in while it's healing, but now has to be extra careful not to pull on the stent by moving or doing anything strenuous or it's another major op!
The test results came back today and the cyst has encapsulated a cancerous tumour. They are confident that they got it alll as the cells in the cyst external to the tumour were all clear...... They say if she hadn't had the op when she did though she'd be in major trouble.
So if she hadn't been gardening, that thing might still be in her and dread to think about that.
So a word of warning not to just ignore things!
