How mild are the symptoms if it leads to death - well according to the media anywayIsn't that why the WHO have raised it to Level 5 because we're under major threat????? Of what exactly... mmmm I wonder? What death from swine flu, showing pictures on TV of people with face masks etc etc, sorry but it's a joke on behalf of the powers that be!

I think as has already been explained it wont only be the 18 = 40 age range that will be affected. It is rather that this age range will be affected worse as they have strong immune systems which will work against them. This is unlike the winter flu viruses which tend to be more damaging to those with a weak immune system, ie the young and the elderly.
I think I got that right?
Nog any poorly 40 something fireman, send em round here I will take care of them!WPC F Hobbit, Shire police

I am no expert in fact I may have failed biology. However I think Capsid explained it clearly. A strong immune system goes into overdrive with this type of flu and ends up effectively damaging the body it is trying to protect, thats the type of flu swine flu is. Seasonal flu is worse in people with weak immune systems, thats just the type of flu that one is. I dont pretend to understand the science, its just how each specific flu strain affects humans.WPC F Hobbit, Shire police

Although there has just been an experty type bloke on the telly saying that they don't know who will get affected the most and that he's fed up with all the assumptions etc by people who should know better. OK, I've paraphrased him somewhat but he was clearly quite annoyed.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
