There's no need for concern at the moment IMO.

My sentiments exactly, possibly blown out of all proportion! If it was really that bad flights OUT of Mexico would've been stopped(I hope!).Thats not to say it isnt bad that some have died from this but I think a clear perspective needs to be installed, otherwise panic sets in & the slightest sniffle makes you a pariah!
I'm not making light of the situation,so please dont shout at me,just that overreaction helps no-one!!thanks,,,Andixx

        • Don't know if this has already been covered but what effect does this pestilence have on pigs - and can we look forward to a glut of cheap sausages?

          • Apparently no pigs have shown any flu symptoms I s'pose it depends on if the poor farmers have been to Mexico or not - unlikely as most farmers tend not to go away until November/December. Anyway I stick to porkinsons anyway cause they are British sausages and free-range

Yep! If it is serious, we won't solve anything by worrying etc, and if it isn't serious, there is nothing to worry about. A modest increase in normal hygiene precautions might be worthwhile, after that, no reason to let the possibility interfere with your life!

Does your Uni have 'Freshers 'Flu', Samwise? The whole place collapses with an almighty cold virus the week after freshers week? Doctors even started putting it on sick notes as if it were a recognised medical term.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

                          • Flippin' eck!

                            On Sky News now.

Seems that a farm worker in Canada has transmitted Swine Flu to a pig!

This seems to be a mixture of swine and avian flu according to Sky.
