  • My Mk5 Transit Project

I have recently bought this The Eco Life Morland Road Allotments Plot 79 Ford Transit Project and am going to undo the botches the last owner made and redo them to the best of my ability!

You'll see from the pictures on the above web link... First things first is bodywork. There is a little welding on the underside rear - easy! And then there is the dents in the bonnet, sides, back and everywhere really As well as the rusted doors with the fake chequerplate on the back.

I need a new bumper (front and possibly back) and smiley face facia. Also, if I can find them some back doors.

I come from a family of Transit owners. My dad has had 3 or 4, my grandad has a tipper and the list goes on. This is my FRIST MOTOR. I have been told to do the work myself and learn :-( I could 'borrow' a few pieces of them - lol!

It is all MOT'ed and insured so I can use it but it looks a little broken, as reliable as it is - it does put a dampener on the candle!

    So........ any ideas?

shame you're so far away, Matt. My OH fixes, sells, breaks, reconditions and breathes transits, esp smilies. It's tragic that as a girl I even know what a smiley is...good luck! Doors are hard to get hold of in perfect nick, your's isn't the first i've heard of with chequerplate!

Good luck with it Matthew, I've seen them that age in much worse condition, so I think you'll do ok with it
