Speed cameras now in action on qe2 bridge

I was sent an email today, there were more pictures on the mail but I do not have the time to fiddle about and resize them all sohave only done one! However you will get the message!

This has to be a joke!! Not only do we have to pay £1.50p now, (if you’re in a car that is), for the privilege to cross the bridge but we also get the pleasure of participating in an all time favorite British pastime!! You know the one of having to wait in long lines to pay the said £1.50p! By the time we actually get on the bridge there is so much traffic built up that we have to cross at a snails pace, if we are lucky enough to move at all! Can anyone please tell me; what is the point of having speed camera’s on there in the first place??

Ok so there is not so much traffic on the bridge in this pic. Every time I go over to visit my daughter in Kent it takes an age to get on, then over the bridge! Then same thing on way home through the tunnels! I would not mind but at times it has taken me almost as long to get over the bridge as it does to actually drive the 20 or so miles to my daughter's house in Orpington

They are probably traffic management we have some on the bridge across the field on the M6 bridge they probably do not trust the toll booth staff and are counting as well to make sure....jacob

I cant see the Point of these ANPR Vans. They drive up our road daily. They know if you havent paid your Road Tax at Swansea they can just look at the Computer.

A few of the toll gates are un-maned automatic but yeah they want to spy on us all!

And it's also to monitor the number plates of the rascals not paying their insurance etc.

Big Brother is watching us all the time as we go about out business. On the points you mention I am always leagal so have no worries about that side of things! To be honest I have mixed feelings about all these cameras everywhere we go! They will be checking up on us im public loos and shop changing rooms soon if were not carefull perrish the thought! Oh yeah thats if a public loo can be found apart from a pub, shopping center, fast food place or somewhere like that! lol

As for the go slow fine, yeah that would be right! I get one every time I go to see my Daughter! lol I'm just glad that since my dear old Dad went to a better place, God bless; I'm not over there so often! My daughter and me share the go slow fines lol

Yeah and you know one of the reasons the cost was so high! This will make you laugh or throw up! At the time the bridge was being built; I worked for a steel fabricator firm smack bang under the bridge! Bost of the labour and all of the steel to build the dam thing was shiped in from abroad!

From time to time the firm I worked for were asked for technical support and some other info just because we were close at hand; typical!

P.S. Oh by the way I had heared that the cost of the bridge has already been recovered in toll charges!

Aye, and the tolls paid that off within the first year of use. Everything else is pure profit. Scandalous....as is everything these days.

Bad enoughwhen we drive back to the UK. Whizz through France, off the train at the tunnel - M20 is bad enough but then we get the M25 if we go to see No 2 daughter. But £1.50 for the benefit and then the same again driving back through to SiL's which is where we stay.

Marginally better than driving through London I suppose but I'd rather pay the tolls on the autoroutes, in 5 years of driving backwards and forwards (and missing Paris) we've never had a traffic problem until we get to the M25.
