WHY?

Is the letter U key on my keyboard not working?
Have I changed my name to Layla-Belle Werthumstruger?
Have I given my details to any dodgy sounding web-sites?

No. So why, last Thursday, did all my spam e-mails suddenly start promising me $$$$$$$s, asking me for $$$$$$$s or inviting me to become a Federal Agent? - 'You too could help the fight against terrorism' - At the same time all the spam promising me ££££££s suddenly stopped. I know I just delete them all, so it shouldn't make a difference, but the USA is a big country, it generates 10 times as many of these things as the little English spammers do. I'm getting almost sentimental for the free on-line bingo offers and at least I only got them once a day.

We've got to the point with our email that it takes an hour or so to download them all, even though 90% of them get deleted straight away by the filters. It's very boring, and I think we'll end up having to change email address

And another thing, when I wrote Layla-Belle on that last post, it left it, but if I write my daughter's straightforward name, Rebecca, it gets a red line underneath.

Have a look for GHOSTSURF, I got mine as a freeby with a computer mag some years ago, you switch it on and you become invisible and after a while the spam drops away to virtually nothing I am with orange and also use the e mail account on the home page which filters out most of the rubbish before it get into my inbox.

Thanks for that Paul - will have a look. I'm sick and fed up of getting various viagra emails, and emails for any person whose first name is bernadette!

Sounds like AOL is good for SOMETHING. These days I get about 10 spam-mails a week (9 of them in the spam box).......

Layla-Belle, you should be honoured (or maybe honored?), the great US of A is noticing you, drawing you into its loud and brash embrace.

Before you know it, you won't have a U to your keyboard, all your double Ls will be cut in half and you'll start to talk real good.

Or to put it another way, UNCLE SPAM wants YOU.

Gee, I already thought I talked real good, though it's gotten better since I've gotten all those e-mails. Think I might apply to be a Federal Agent, but only if they let me work with Agent Mulder - of course he's real, he's on T.V. ain't he?

Got up this morning to be told off by OH - apparently all my anti-virus and anti-histahistamine, etc etc etc things weren't working.....no wonder I got viagra emails for the world! And um,er, it was my fault!.......................I just log on and get on with it, never touched owt on pc, wouldnt know how to. Strange thing is, still got a few odd emails - shall blast them into outer space and hope this does the trick.
