I went to the garden this morning. Having a closer look has shown maybe a little more work than first thought , but thats always the way isn't it? I was so excited last night, I wouldn't have noticed any flaws.
After him saying there isn't any nasty weeds there, I'm now wondering what comes under that classification , as there are plenty of docks, thistles, dandelions which have shed their seeds, and bind weed just coming through. I didn't see that last night
I found a roll of heavy duty black polythene buried in among the weeds, together with two long planks of wood. Under the polythene the bindweed roots were just lying on the surface. I got the bucket filled from just the small space I dug. The soil is very crumbly and fine, but I think it will dry out quickly. I will get my compost bin there soon, but most of the weeds will have to go to the tip, what with all the seeds and perenial roots.
The trees need to stay, so we will need to work around them. Kissykit has laid claim to the nettle patch for her dahlias. I did notice some rather large snails though, so there is now 6 less than there were before
