I used to be one of the friendly chatty types on my site - but now time is so precious that I find myself erecting barriers (bean canes/sunflowers) to hide myself away, otherwise I spend all my gardening time chatting with the other plotters

trying to get an allotment is the hardest bit, it's nigh on impossible to get a plot round here.. i'm thinking of hijacking the garden of an empty house near me and claiming squatters rights

They all seem pretty friendly on our site. Only 10 plots and one of them is totally overgrown (fingers crossed it'll be reallocated soon) and another one is only ever hacked back to reveal the fruit bushes. The others are good though even though I don't see some of them much cos of the time we all have available. One plot is a bit reserved but they're not rude or anything, the rest of us get on OK and all the kids seem to play well together.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

But it doesnt take me long as i say everything is in containers. Im quite sad when everything is done and i have no more work to do. I would love to have an allotment where i could go and spend a good hour or two. I would also then have more space for my veggies and possibly be able to grow so larger veg such as pumpkins Ive always thought allotments were a nice place to be my grandads friend had one when i was little and i used to love going and helping out......and getting an onion or some carrots to bring home
And there was me thinking i was the only one lol, i plant in pots and containers too (not my garden to plant stuff in )

I am very new to all this but i really enjoy getting stuck in- sowing new seeds, checking on my growing plants and planning what i want to grow next- once i've sowed one lot of seeds i want to sow even more- can't get enough of it lol

I think the vast majority of allotments are lovely growingkasbar. My site has about 100 plots and whilst some folk clearly would rather 'get on' than chinwag (very fair!) I've never encountered unpleasantness. In fact it sometimes takes me quite a while to reach my plot, what with various older gentlemen reminding me (not for the first time ) that they're not married and offering me their services (I like to think in a digging and planting sense ).
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery

"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

I think it depends on the number of plots on your site...less plots everyone knows everyone.
