As it was too bloomin' cold and windy to do anything today OH and I did a bit of a shop and at one point went into Wyvale, one of the assistants was sorting plants and had a trolley with stuff on it that looked as tho' they were going to be thrown out, a tray of osteospermums, some other flowers and some strawberry plants.When I asked her she said they were going to be binned so I asked could I have them, not that I wanted them for free but I just can't bear to see plants thrown away which have a reasonable just of survival, which these certainly did. I was told 'No, they have to be put in the skip.' What a waste, we are trying to encourage schools to have gardens, people are planting up derelict spaces, offenders are doing gardens for people, any of these could have used them. It made me really cross to see such waste when they would have given pleasure to someone.
