We have a new farm shop that has set up at our local garden centre in Roxton (Literally on top of the Black Cat Roundabout A1). Val and Mark have only just started it so are only open Friday to Monday for now.

All the produce in the shop is from farms within a 15 mile radius including cheeses from a lovely sounding place -Wobbley Bottom Farm - and venison from Ampthill (Woburn farms). My friend Kev supplies lamb and beef and they have started stocking free range chook too from a local source. And........ I'll be supplying 'different' veg later this summer for sale in the shop.

A few farmshops near us (not too far from Croydon). This is my favourite, they're homemade stuff is a bit pricy but very nice, good veg and a fantastic butchers
Priory Farm, Surrey ? A great day out, local food, plants, carp fishing

Another one nearby is Fanny's Farm, she has loads of chickens in a big pen and you can collect the eggs from the nesting boxes yourself and a few pigs wondering around, think the male pig died last year and last time I visited they were planning on getting some piglets, will have to revist to see if they did
            Fanny's Farm Shop

Keep meaning to visit this one so can't comment on it yet

I don't know what the best one around here is called, but it is just outside Rode, not far from Trowbridge. Not only is everything they sell of excellent quality, but I can buy goat meat and mutton such as I haven't seen elsewhere (as good as when we could grow our own).

Strangely the local Farmers Markets near me verge on the pathetic (or my standards are just too high?).

There is a local farm shop in Grimsby (Robinsons) and Alvingham Farm shop - that actually only sells meat???!! - are both very good.

DDL - have you been to Barton Grange recently, was there in Feb and the farm shop was packed with shoppers - though I confess that I took one look and kept walking.....

I certainly have, don't know why I didn't include it in the first place! Went to a shop on Bank Holiday Monday. I was actually offered a job there before I started work at the garage! Another HIGHLY recommended farm shop, with the extra delights of a super garden centre. Gents must visit the loos apparently - the urinals are something to behold. Methinks you need to check out their website for full details!

I'd forgotten about Polhill went there just after christmas, had a great day soo much stuff to look at and was very impressed with their cafe. I tried some of the meat from their butchers and while it was a lot cheaper than priory farm I thought the meat at priory was better quality so wouldn't get their meat again but for everything else Polhill has a lot more choice now I've been reminded of it I'll go there again
