Not sure which way they go Alice, but think its from south to north in the summer. Have had them chez moi for about 4 weeks now, and their nest is right above my bed, (in the loft clearly) most annoying at nights, but I let them off as they are so graceful in flight.

Life's disappointments are so much harder to take if you don't know any swear words.
think they were swifts (or swallows) I'm a bit thick with the birdies...but lovely to hear them tweeting!..and clearly I had sunshine, just being 15 miles from you! lovely isn't it? summer on its way I hope!
After a 10 hour shift in the garden one day last week I was bent over double from weeding and decided to have a very long bath.
All through my relaxing soak I hear 'tweet, tweet, tweet' - some swallows/swifts have managed to get in though the new roof/guttering and make a nest between the hot water tank cupboard and the outside wall. By the sounds of things there were quite a few young mouths to feed.
We've had Swallows nesting at my Folks' and down the Stables for a good month I reckon. Lovely to see, but my Cat doesn't like them as they dive-bomb her! She's too scared to walk across the garden, so goes all the way round underneath the hedge to get to the other end!

We've got them in Hertfordshire, saw them at the weekend.I love watching swooping and screaming and look out for them every year, good sign that summer is on the way.

Had both around here for weeks. Shockingly, none of them have thought to nest in my stable, despite it being an ideal spot, especially for Swallows. Am thinking of hanging a vacancy sign out, as a hint!
