Mr Sheds is always buying tickets to bands that I haven't even heard of. When I say I don't want to go, I get the guilt trip, that it's cost him money and he 'thought it would be nice to go out together'.
He did it with Disneyland too. Bought the tickets even though I'd said I didn't want to go.
Now he's trying to convince me to go to Spain (coincidentally it is when some of his bands are playing a festival).
Last year he dragged me to another ruddy festival, on the promise that we could detour and visit my friends on the way home. Funnily enough, he 'forgot' to turn off the right motorway exit on the way home and we never got to see my friends.
I can live with him always getting it wrong, but it is the way it is MY fault that I don't like what he likes! I don't stop him doing what suits him and not me (even when I have to join in), I simply refuse to pretend enthusiasm for thing which I merely find tollerable, but he is SOOOOOo upset when I remind him that "if that is what you want to do, we'll do it, but no it isn't something I WANT to do!"
Oddly enough the things I want to do that don't appeal to him are mostly social. I don't expect enthusiasm about visiting my friends and family (fair enough, I ain't enthusiastic about sitting in a records office doing family tree research), but he could agree from time to time without being such a miserable old.......Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

I don't expect him to sit at my mother's all day on a Sunday, while I watch the TV. But he does.
I don't drag him out to the pub then spend the whole night ignoring him.
I don't book restaurants where he can only eat one thing on the menu. Even if I give my preference, he'll still book the Steak House.
He's told me I'm "not normal" for not liking chocolates & flowers as peace offerings. I say, use a little imagination and thought A T&M voucher goes down a treat, but that's not "normal".

I don't think I've ever actually HAD a peace offering.
Different details, same basic problem, a man always expects the woman in their life to like the same things he does, and hates being proved wrong!
