The Sweetpea made it through her first night! She's now 26 hours old.
We've had a good night. The Sweetpea spent her night under my chin. I haven't slept too badly, but was very conscious of her tiny presence.
Since 11.30 last night the Sweetpea has had four good feeds of kitten formula at half strength, and it's getting easier to fed her with the syringe & teat. It was a bit trial & error at first and I was quite scared in case the milk went down the wrong way.
She's also toiletted (both ways) which, as any parent knows, is a relief. That was a terrible pun and quite unintended.
She's asleep in a chinese food container lined with double-sided fleece on the radiator just now. I have to feed her again in an hour.
The daughter is bringing home a little incubator this evening so that we can regulate her body temperature better and she has somewhere much safer to live. I'm wearing a tatty old tshirt today and we'll use it to line the incubator later as the Sweetpea is fixated on my scent.
The other cats are all fascinated with her, although her mother and gran have decided they aren't interested any more.
Need to charge my camera so I'll get some pics later today. I'm elated that she's made it this far after all she's been through
