Madmax and I watched and both agreed it was better than it has been in recent years. I think if it came down to a person standing and singing it without all the dancers etc, the UK one would have done better. Can't quite work out why Norway won the guy even says himself that he can't sing very well.

We watched it and enjoyed it (with wine!).

I really, really wanted Moldova to win. I think it's a shame more countries don't enter with their own 'folk' music - now world music is so popular and accessible it would make sense rather than every country recording in English and making a pop song.

Isn't Vita don Teese's (sp?) waist TINY (German entry).

Radio 5 said this morning that the Norwegian guy is originally from Belarus - so if I was churlish I would say that we had the old block voting again. But that would be churlish because he was very pretty.

Someone in the heats described Ukraine as 'a pole dancer in a hamster wheel'.

The problem is I can't get 'our' entry out of my head, and I really don't like it.

OH always watches with DD, its a TRADITION. They score each song, and generally have some 'quality' time together. i disappear unstairs, its a father/daughter thing, though our Japanese student joined them this year. DD said JD was too harsh on her scoring . She was in fits of giggles apparently, and loved it, though that might have been due to the general 'have a drink and munchies' atmosphere.

I watched it with daughter. Thought it had been one of the better ones this year. Clearly still a lot of political voting going on in the top scores. Do miss Terry but didn't think Graham Norton did too bad a job.

That is pretty much what OH said (he watched the last bit. I'd gone to bed by then).

It gave me the creeps actually looking at her waist, even my husband thought it looked weird.

I can't stop singing the Norway one and I didn't like that at the time but after watching it a couple of times on YouTube it has stuck in my head.

I watched it round a friend's house, armed with wine and cheese/crackers/bread. Always good for a laugh and OMG, those German trousers! The Greek entry was really funny, too. Didn't think our entry was too bad, but the Norwegian one was rubbish! Surely he should have been at home with his Mum?

Ok, is it just me, or was that plastic swimming pool thing at the end totally pointless and weird?

Hi all. I haven't watched it for years and have no intention of starting again...Sir Tel was the best thing about it for me. I've just watched 21agains' video link.....if that is the winner, I dread to think what the poor ones were like. The Uk entry was cringeworthy too..heard that on the radio the other day. Still, each to his own! It would be a boring ol' world if we all liked the same things! Cheers.

When younger I always used to have a eurovison party where we all voted on paper and made our own voting system up (eg if you sing in English and you aren't English you lose points - points for best hair, costumes etc) had a grand old time drinking and shouting at the telly.
Alas OH Hates it so not been allowed to have one for years.

Next year anyone up for a eurovision party?...

We have printed off the score sheets for the past couple of years as our 10 year old enjoys watching it as she dances (if you can call it that to the upbeat songs.

I started scoring them and about a third of the way through lost all interest so went on the laptop instead.

Don't think I will bother printing one off next year.
