        A good point.

I am eating dried beans, lettuce, more lettuce, onions (spring and stored), chard, coriander. That's about it.

                  ...nor honey!
A Vegan doesn't eat or wear anything derived from animal origin.....depending on how "strict" could include not wearing silk.

Now I wouldn't have known about honey. Since it is a surplus reserve 'stolen' from the bees, I am not sure quite WHY a vegan wouldn't use it. Very strict vegans won't even eat food that has been inside a kitchen used for preparing non-vegan food (includes a few I've met) which must make all sorts of things complicated for them.....

And then you get those annoying pretend vegetarians who don't eat meat except perhaps a bit of chicken and then fish is fine................ Upset a bloke at work who claims to be vegetarian but eats fish and white meat by pointing out that he wasn't really vegetarian, more just a bit faddy. He insists that he is vegetarian as "fish doesn't count". It really doesn't help.

Never quite understood "vegetarians" eating fish and chicken. That just means you dont eat red meat doesnt it?

Yup...I don't understand it either. I LOVE Alison's comment about them being 'just faddy'...and I shall tuck it away for useage at a meeting one day.

                            Thanks Alison

                              Well meat is murder.

                              But Fish is justifiable homocide.

LOL - how does chicken fit into that then?
