As a store manager for a large chain of car parts / accessory / bikes retailer I have to say that christmas started officially at the beginning of October, when we put on our xmas promo! Thats the official line and I have to toe it!

As a human being however, the yuletide season wont start for me until at least the 2nd week of December! I hate the commercialisation of the whole last quarter of the roman calendar year, it is rampant consumerism run wild! As a child I was happy with one decent prezzie, some sweets, a colouring book, some felt tip pens and a sketch pad, whereas nowadays the little dears have to have everything they want! For ourselves we have a decent feast and one decent prezzie each and thats it, anything more is overkill!

    Christmas, Bah Humbug!!
    Blessings

      Christmas

People think it's just for children but I still love it,but I do go into some sort of hibernation until a day or two before Christmas eve as it does start to wear thin when the lights go up so early.I guess we are just getting too old,or was it different in the late fifties and early sixties "when I were a lad".Mind fireworks were for sale in one of the local supermarkets in september!

I like Chritmas, when it is at the right time of year. Was up focus t'other day lookin for garden bits and they moved all the seeds and bulbs into a corner to make room for Xmas tat.
I feel a bah humbug moment coming on.
By the time new year rolls round a person can really go off Slade

Do you not have to wear a pair of flashing antlers then Mrs D?

Lol Snadger!! Even I would rebel at that suggestion were it to come from higher up!

Must say I popped into my store the other day with my Mum (she wanted a few bits n bobs, so took the opportunity to get staff purchase for her whilst showing her my branch), and the xmas promo does look good, but in my mind its far too early!

I used to enjoy xmas when the kids were little but hate it now.Just think got far to comercialized. My daughter doesn't do xmas since leaving home, but celibrates solstice,so we get the grandchildren a pressy each then.My eldest sons a big kid and loves xmas, but my youngest isn't really bothered,so its abit of a mixup in our house whether or not to bother with xmas!
