Good morning one and all.........as Eminem says its soooooo good to be back!
We had a lovely holiday, although the it did rain almost every day, except Thursday Pembrokeshire is such a lovely place to stay/live, it is truly beautiful, we stayed in a little village called Trefin/Trevine its about 6 miles away from Whitesands, St.Davids. The cottage itself was fairly nice. Tuesday was an eventful day, OH and I spent the day shopping, peeling, chopping (well mainly me) he went in the sauna. I have to say he was a good host when Sheridan and family arrived, then Shirley and Madmax, he poured champagne and I was soooooo delighted to meet everyone. I ran off preparing the starter, which was a melon crayfish tail salad with sauce and paprika. The table had been laid by my son who had done a wonderful job and everyone sat down. It seemed to go down well as I had empty plates and the wine was flowing, including the teabag wine kindly provided by Shirley. Main course was a choice, either lamb dinner/chicken dinner or vegetable rissotto. I ended up cooking for 8, which included my kids. I had received a text from JJ saying she and RT were going to gatecrash but then it was too far sooooo phew.......from me lol.
Shirley had made me the most fantastic hat for when its cold......and it came in very useful at 3am when I could not sleep lol.....no internet lol.....bored watching carp on tv lol.....Sheridan made us whisky marmalade, its sooo yummy. Thanks girls xxx
Dessert was either lemon or choc tart served with fresh raspberries or strawberries..........shirley seems an addict to raspberries lol....
Thanks very much for coming to the dinner party and for your lovely comments.
Now...Sheridan and Shirley are both lovely, lovely people, fab sense of humour, it was quite weird as we talked with each other like we do on the vine, we know each other, which at times suprised our OH's, its just we had never met. The men, except for Sheridan's OH who was being a taxi to his kids, were very loud and kept being told off, they were skiting us for being on the vine lol........Shirley and madmax are a good comedy act and could make a fortune, they are soooooo funny. I am really sorry we could not come to the BBQ, damn men, doing things behind me back, deffo next time, thats if you have not gone to Bristol!
Now Sheridan lives about half a mile from where we were staying, she had invited me to go watch her row, so after winding my way through country lanes, I eventually found the spot and a man was stood there all alone, I spotted a boat out at sea and enquired if Sheridan was onit. He kindly radioed through and I was told yes, she was, he let them know that I was waiting for her. My eyes peeled to see our famous rower, rowing in, oh no, her ladyship was waving to me, sat there like the Queen of Sheba, watching everyone else rowing, doing nothing. As it happens, her ladyship had got the time wrong and had already rowed......tell ya what that water looked cold and it was amazing to see how big the boat was she rowed in, truly nice.
I saw badgers and foxes and lots of different birds. Sheridans OH had recommended that we go to Strumble Head to see porpoise, after arriving their, with excitement and intrepidation, we saw..........nothing lol....not a fin, nothing at all but it was beautiful and I can highly recommend you go!
OH and our lad went fishing in the Atlantic, catching pollock and mackerel and they stank when I collected them...but they were sunburned and happy. DD and I went to Pembroke Castle, it was great but tiring, spent a fortune in the town and went to a local Kashmir shop where i bought a very expensive kaftan, sssssssssssssh OH has no idea about the price.
Friday night I went off to say Good bye to Sheridan and what a lovely home she has got, I got a tour of her seedlings and dead slugs lol....her OH has the best job in the world and I was made to feel very welcome.
I shall miss Wales very much. It has given OH and myself something to think about. The fresh air, the lifestyle........just going to St davids and watching the surfing or going for a walk along the coastal path and taking in the sea air, the scenery. Oh well, one day......
Home again and the lottie is overgrown with weeds, my greenhouse door has come off, the spuds are through and everything is twice the size, so much to do but it was gr8 to sleep in my own bed last night.
So I am back to annoy u all lol.........
