Firework Regulations 2004, the law says...

      Firework Offences
      • Possession by a person under 18 of a adult firework in a public place. (an adult firework is any firework with the exception of indoor type fireworks such as caps, cracker snaps, novelty matches, party poppers, serpents, sparklers or thrown downs).
      • Possession of a category 4 firework (professional display fireworks) by a member of the public other than a professionally qualified and trained person.
      • Breach of the fireworks curfew. The curfew on the use of fireworks exists between 11pm and 7am (with a few exceptions)

It seems you can use fireworks any day of the year.

One problem with that the Asian community use fireworks to celebrate Diwali & Eid as we have a large Asian community here a ban may cause one or two problems

We had fireworks going off from 8pm until 2am on Saturday. They were from the people across the road, accompanied by loud music, screaming and shouting.

Several of the fireworks were fired towards houses, as opposed to across the fields. Our front garden was littered with spent fireworks on Sunday.

The chooks and rabbit were fine and the puppy was fine, but Max barked and barked every time one went off.

They were so loud our windows vibrated, and you could here them very clearly even with a TV and radio on

don't get me wrong, fun is a good thing, but please, not at the cost of others.

Exactly! I mean, it's not difficult to think about others. Our next door neighbour called round yesterday to tell us that he was having a few fireworks tonight after his daughter got in from school and perhaps we'd like to make sure our animals were in and safe. They had quite a few rockets and stuff, starting about 6pm but it's been quiet for ages now. Sounded like they enjoyed themselves. No probs with that.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
