Sorry fudgelover79 ,Id like to welcome you to "the Vine" I notice that all your posts are in this topc . Please take time to explore the rest of the forum . You will find lots of different subjects and many interesting discussions .As you seem to be a "foodie" you should check out the "Season to Taste" section which has many tasty recipies in it .The "Top Tips" section is full of really good ideas and the "Veging Out "section is great if you grow your own .Try not to laugh at people as some of us are quite new to the whole grow your own scene and it puts them off posting questions .I havent been here long but have found it to be a very helpfull and enjoyable site were people are willing to help and assist you but they never try to force their ideas down your throat.
Again welcome to the Vine and hope you find it as enjoyable as I do.

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

lord i wasnt laughing at a question i was laughing at a statement made by andrewo about fern britton having an affair with james martin....seeing as fern has been married to phill vickery for about 10 years then if it was james that broke her first marriage up then it would have been a feat he would have been around 19 - 20 and i know that he was in france at that time.. he didnt return to uk till he was 21 and went to work in winchester where a woman handed him her card and he went for an interview...for ready steady cook the rest is history...

You seem to know a lot about him fudgelover, has he got an injunction out on you yet?????!!!????

You have a point though, quite an amusing thought!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

We saw James at the Midlands food fair in Melton Mowbray last month and one of the first things he said in his presentation was that it was Phil Vickery and not him who was married to Fern, so I guess its a common mistake. We queued to get his autograph and I was amazed at how vicious ladies of a certain age can get. We were near the front of the queue but got elbowed and pushed out of the way when he arrived. I must say the poor man looked positively terrified
we also saw Clarissa Dickenson Wright and were able to actually chat to her as she wasn't attracting the same bloodthirsty crowd.

Just back from my travells and catching up. Thought you knew a little to much about James fudgelover and that you had used his dogs name for your Posting name .While we have been mostly talking about the Digs Deep prog , I watched the Yorkshires Finest the other night .Have to say it was a far superior programme .
No chance you could get James to come on some night to say hello and take part in a question and answer session ?

Well now - I'll declare myself as a JM fan from the outset, but even if I wasn't, his naivety and enthusiasm is infectious.

This man has some serious money to spend but gets excited about a seed germinating and the smell of tomatoes. He remembers his grandparents veg garden and his dad's responsibilities at Castle Howard.

OK - so we now have a number of Celebrity Chefs interested in rearing their own livestock and/or growing veg - Jamie Oliver, Nick Nairn, Gordon Ramsey, James Martin, Hugh F W., and others. That's what we wanted them to do and why are we now criticising them for doing this?

I am not criticising any of the chefs for wanting to grow their own vegetables and fruit Any way to promote growing your own I think is important.
