About the university students, it isn't automatic to get the treatment free, they usually have to pay, then fill in a form to claim it back, at least at our dental surgery.
Son No1, who never has any money, couldn't be bothered, whereas Son No2 filled out his before he left the surgery . Needless to say, he's coming home for the summer with enough money left to see him through if he can't get a job!
With students at college, or year 11 leavers, they are not counted in full time education during the summer holidays, so going to the dentist or the opticians is best left to term time!I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
Now a little Shrinking Violet.

1) female
2) 40-69
3) employed by OH, who is self-employed
4)about 6 months ago
5)
6) every 6 months (ish)
7) Dentist sends appointments (for both of us at same time) and if it isn't going to be possible, we change it over the phone, whoever gets to phone first.
8) Private
9) the one with a good local reputation (and OH was signed up with) had stopped taking new NHS adult patients when I wanted to sign up. Since gone entirely private.
10) yes
11) check-up cost, £75
12) Sort of knew something about it
13) can't imagine being on benefits, but I guess I would claim what I could, after all the tax we have paid between us over the years....Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
