Oh Bless you. It's rotten when that happens, but I say, 5 minutes of wonderful is better than a life time of nothing!. Relatively speaking. I bet it turns up in a few weeks and I hope it does. Good luck

Aw Lizzy, really sorry to read this, sentimental things mean so much... I'll keep my fingers crossed that it turns up.
Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.

Hope you find it, Lizzy. Try the dream technique. Think REALLY hard about it, in the minutes leading up to bedtime. I've done this before and dreamt about the object in the place I left it.

I cant wear any rings at the moment cos my fingers are still swollen after my op On the sentimental value I took my mums engagement ring in to H Samuels a few years ago to be repaired and I was told that it wasnt worth repairing as it had no value, I was fuming if I want to pay to have something repaired surley that is up to me. I walked out of the shop and havent been back since, I eventually took it to a small shop that is part owned by someone I went to school with ( i didnt know this until I went into the shop ) and it was repaired, the cost £35 worth every penny to me I only wear it on special occasions and its like having my Mum and Dad with me.
It will turn up when you least expect it to.

I really hope you have found it, or will find it soon.

If it's any consolations my nanna lost her engagement ring and daren't tell grandad.... she hunted for cheap costume jewelry to replace it and he never suspected.

5 YEARS later he found a ring in the front garden... rushed in to tell nanna that a courting couple must have had a tiff and it got chucked in the garden, and it was hers.
She had to come clean then... and he was only cross she hadn't told him all those years.

I'm not particularly religious and neither is Mum but she always asks St Anthony to help her find things.
Its actually St Anthony of Padua and there is a Catholic prayer that can be said but a lot of people use a simplified version of it which is:
                    St. Anthony, St. Anthony
                    Please come down
                    Something is lost
                    And can't be found

                    or
                    Dear St. Anthony, I pray
                    Bring it back, without delay.

                    or
Something's lost and can't be found
                    Please, St. Anthony, look around.

I lost my keys once and tried it. A few hours later they turned up where I had already searched.

                    Worked for me.

If you want the full catholic version it is :

                    Unfailing Prayer to
                    Saint Anthony
Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints.

O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God
and Charity for His creatures made you worthy, when on
earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on
your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in
trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore
of you to obtain for me (request). The answer to my prayer
may require a miracle. Even so, you are the saint of
                    Miracles.

O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full
of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the
Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms, and
the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.

Amen. (Say 13 Paters, Aves, and Glorias)

                    Hope it works for you.
                    from Row.
Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice
