As I now grow veg for a living, I suppose some of the appeal has gone (only a tiny bit) but I suppose most jobs will have good days and better days. Whilst my veg may be loving this hot weather, it just makes my day so much longer as I have to go and close up the tunnel late at nigt and water at the same time. It also requires an earlier start so I can open the tunnel and water again before everything gets cooked.
I still work 7 days a week at it, so it can't be all bad, though I have grown to loathe weeds - 5 acres of thistles, chickweed, OSR and nettles is no fun in anyones book. Still, I can always retreat to one or other of my walled gardens to escape for a bit !
