Oh, what a funny thread! Far too many senior moments (at the grand old age of 32) to mention...

One recently was leaving the gas stove on and wondering why I could 'hear' gas for 20 mins while I pottered around the kitchen.

Worse still is that many of my moments happen at work. People assume scientists to be clever - just don't ever come into my lab. On Monday I made a really basic mistake and turned a pretty pink cobalt resin white. Did you know that scientists can swear in more languages than any other sector?

      Really Bad Senior Moment

Today I have discovered a major senior moment that happened yesterday, and possibly the day before too.

My Provado bug killer stuff comes in a spray bottle identical to my path weed killer. I'm not 100% sure but I think I may have sprayed my two white grape vines and my brand new lonicera (twice) with the weedkiller rather than the bug killer....time alone will tell.

I'm so cross with myself. The weedkiller is kept in the garage, I've got no idea what it was doing in the patio cupboard. The bug spray is kept in the patio cupboard but I've just found it inside the french windows on the floor. Either I'm cracking up completely at age 42, or someone else is involved.

Muggins just grabbed the yellow spray bottle yesterday without looking at the label..........that'll be one lesson learned the hard way.

Does anyone think these plants can be saved if the inevitable happens?

Might be a bit late now but you could try spraying them with clean water and give 'em a wash?

Madmax and I were washing Flossie yesterday and Madmax was busy spraying what he thought was roof cleaner on the soft top - only to be told by me that it was actually the tyre shine formula (they are both in spray bottles which don't say what the contents are - Madmax is not usually the person who washes my car).

Aranthos (elder son, 18) calles those daft moments where you forget what you were saying / doing etc, 'brain farts' which I rather like

These are known as Incydents in our house.....I've not yet turned 40 so not sure that I'm allowed to use 'senior' as an excuse......yet
This is a great thread though i have been laughing out loud and (don't tell anyone) I'm reading it while listening to a rather boring teleconference.

So am I but I'm a glamorous, svelte domestic goddess (as long as I don't wear my glasses when I look in the mirror ).

I do regularly walk most purposefully into rooms to find something or to sort something out though... then have no idea what
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Don't you just hate it when you walk upstairs for something and can't remember what it was until you get downstairs again.

I've really excelled today with a senior moment. Came back from Oban and there is a rhodhi which desperately needs moving (only a small one) - dug a lovely hole filled said hole with water - went a dug up rhodie - phone rang - went indoors to answer it - came back out - back over to rhodie and promptly planted the blooming thing back in the hole I'd just taken it out of - watered it well wasn't until I walked back across the garden and saw the 'new' hole I realised what I'd done It's now been dug once again and replanted in the 'new' hole and there it is damn well staying

I spent half an hour this morning trying to find the green courgette seedlings to plant out after a while I recounted my actions on what could have happened to them and suddenly realised I planted them BEFORE the yellow ones the other day

i work in a call centre and i regularly try to do something on the computer using my mobile phone instead of the mouse (well it's almost the same shape)

and the other one is trying to phone someone using the computer keyboard instead of the actual phone buttons
