Good luck and fingers crossed!
My Gran was snapped up by H*omebase when they were Texsas cos they recognised her years of plant knowledge. But then it changed hands and a new young person took over. He went out of his way to make her life miserable cos he wanted her to leave cos he thought she was too old. Madness!
I much rather be approached by an older person in a shop - you stand a good chance of speaking to someone who knows what they're talking about!

I only have experience of teaching where generally schools want NQTs as they are so much cheaper to hire then more exerienced teachers. It sucks.
My OH did say once to me that if he ran a business where he had to hire staff it would be financial suicide to hire any woman of child bearing age Needless to say, we had words.....
Good luck with the job-hunting, you will find something you like and who wants you for what you can offer

Hi Lizzy - sorry I haven't got around to posting on this thread up til now, but I always seemed to be reading it whilst eating or some such. (If I start typing then my food gets forgotten! I know , bad habit to be reading the Vine during lunch, but then why not when everyone at home is out?)
I'll be interested to hear how you get on with your duplicate 'no children mentioned' application, nice one
Good luck with your job hunting - if your potential employers read the Vine they'd know that you should be snapped up!Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.
