I didn't realise tonsiltus could be so awful. My poor little girl has been in on drip for two days, very poorly. I have to go to work tomorrow- so many reports to write and i have had so much time off ill myself I don't want to admit to them that actually I don't want to go! My mum is with her, so she is in safe hands. We didn't get our dream smallholding yesterday as some git outbid us, an elderly friend died today of bowel cancer. I want to cry but feel numb. I know I need to think positive, but I can't right now - sort me out everyone!!!!!!

What a awful time for you. It is a lot to cope with all at once. Take good care of yourself and have strength that things will improve. A strong drink and let the tears come then a good nights sleep.
Best wishes that your daughter will be better soon.BumbleB

So sorry for you Petal. Hope it helps to know that other people are thinking about you.
The only things in that list that you can do anything about are you and your daughter.
If it was me I would phone my work and tell them I won't be in before Monday.
I wasn't always like that, I would have gone to work no matter what was happening, but I'm older and wiser now. Take care of yourself and your child and hope you feel better soon.

I'm with the others, I would tell work I won't be back until my daughter is home. But thats just me have got militant in my old age! Any employer worth their salt would understand that she is more important. I'm sure your mum will give you regular updates if you do decide to go in.
Hope things look up for you soon and that your baby is soon feeling better. (don't know how old she is but they are always your baby aren't they?)Kirsty b xx

Ever since Bean was borned my outlook has changed - he's the most important thing in my life now, and I would do anything to make sure he's safe/happy/healthy.
There's nowt more important than family in my humble onion.
Hope the sun's shining on you today - both physically and metaphorically.
I've some karma in my pocket, it's a little pocket-dusty, but I'll launch it your way across the county. Get ready to catch.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/

Petal (((((hugs))))).
I'm with the others, don't go into work, how will you be able to concentrate with all that on your mind you poor love.
Take some time to look after your daughter and yourself and to grieve for your friend.
Will be thinking of you and sending some healing vibes. xxxxImagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.

Poor you - what a dreadful time of it. My advice is (and feel free to ignore it)
Go to the hospital but take the reports with you and get 5 mins done in between kisses and hugs and fetching water, jelly, icecream.
Your daughter will get better but I'd push for having them taken out. I had mine taken out as an adult 9 years back and have never regretted it. I've never had a sore throat or chesty cough or anything bad since but the monthly tonsilitus, weeks off work, feeling that I was going to die and be eaten by my cat (a tad dramatic I know...) weren't enjoyable.
The place you were bidding on wasn't meant to be and the perfect one is still waiting for you. You'll probably find out this place is prone to flooding or something
And I think you will cry at some point, probably when someone you know asks you how you are in the middle of Tesco or some other dreadfully inconvenient place.....
And finally Sorry for the loss of your friend. Raise a glass, or a cuppa when you have 5 mins peace to remember your friendship and try to find comfort that they're beyond pain now.
Big Hugs

Lizzie - can I just say anyone not employing you must be insane.
I've got from this one post:
Excellent time management; good future planning, creativity [I like the being eaten by cat scenario], good reasoning skills, identification of bigger picture, emotional intelligence, empathy and a team player.
If I had a job going, I'd be asking for your CV right now.
