    If you can't get your French telecoms to allow you to use your BB, what about using a local telecoms?

      Sorry I disappeared last night, internet went down due to local shenanigans.
      Looked at the Mobilink thingy Manda, but the only offices in Karachi are all in areas that are out of bounds. As I set the security policy, I cant really be seen to be going there myself.
      I will wait till I get home and go to my Bouyge shop, get laughed out of it, then change service provider to someone who does it.
      Cheers again to all for the help.

        Morning Bob, have you tried the Bouggie link?

        Bouygues Telecom - International Visitors - Services

        They do provide some 'internet' services (the EDGE service). Why not ring and ask if they can be added to your current package?

          Not sure if you have ever tried to use the phone system in Karachi?
          I will wait till I get home.
          I am not someone who is of a patient enough disposition to do that sort of thing by phone, from here. Tbh I'm not even sure Mother Theresa would have been either.

            Lol! If I was you I'd just sell the Blackberry to one of your colleagues out there and 'move on'!

                Bob, I'd wait until autumn, cover it in mulch in the meantime, see whether that helps. If it's not doing what you want by them, into the great techno compost bin.

                  * grins!

                  Maybe you could swap it for some local gardening/farming accutreuments (sp?) - I bet they have some good 'azarda's' (just the end bit not the shaft!) and such like? Sell it and buy something for the garden lottie that you know how to fix.

                    Great idea Tony, I think thats problem solved.
                    They seem to harvest landmines round here, not sure I want to take any of them back with me!! It is mango season though here, 3kg of mango for about a euro this morning in the supermarket. So sweet.
                    Prefer to talk about mango's than Blackberry's.
