It was wonderful meeting you Bernie! I think we're going to have a lot of laughs and chats when I move into Bird Street thank you for guiding us to the hotel and everything you did for us while we were in your area, you are a lovely woman and I'm glad you'll be there when I return to Preston in September

OT - I think I'd like to meet more people I can natter about gardens and growing in general with, but I get easily confused with forums, I can't remember peoples real names, and before long, on every forum I've been on, peoples real names get brought into every post...and then...yup...I get confused as to who is who.
It takes ages to realise who is who on a forum this large, so in the end I just contribute[or not!! ] to threads not knowing whether I've said the right thing or the wrong thing at all.
I'm also not good at showing what I think in type, I can feel for someone who posts something awful has happened to them etc, but I never know what to write so that I can explain it, so I post nothing.
As far as gardening goes though, this forum has been an absolute eye-opener for information, and it may well be down to the sheer size of it - so I don't HAVE to know who everyone is, or more likely, just down tot he stage I'm at at gardening.
Either way...forgive me being impersonal....but I'm very grateful for what I've learnt since I've been here.
      errr.....yeah....so....byeeee.....

...Nooooo - I can do one or many I promise you JaneyB young lady I have it in the calendar to book with you, just been either unable to get back in here (it comes, it goes) or stuck with work.

I'm one of those people that didn't get the shyness gene, not taking any credit or apologising for how I am - I'm happy on my own, I'm happy with friends, I'm happy in hew situations with new people - guess we should change my name to HappyDopey

we could produce badges for Grapes, such as Suzie aka Piskie which would containt 'your' avatar.

I best shut up, I feel a job coming my way

I have totally missed this thread, I am still playing catch up as and when I can gain access. I think poor TEB is on a basket weaving course following trying to help me. You're a star TEB.

        Anyway - meeting Grapes/Fourm peoples:
I went several at a Wellies bash, it was a lovely day and I'd say I felt I had already met them, it was very comfortable - but I realise not everyone feels comfortable like that, my sister is shy, I'm not.

I've met the Tall Fella more than once, so he can't be too bad in real life, can he

No problems! It was FAB meeting you and Angie. The Grapevine is responsible for some super friendships. I'll help in any way I can. Keep hold of your A - Z Preston though - we may both need it to find our way round Cant wait till you move up.

If I got to meet other Grapes in person I'm afraid they would find me very dull - I am quite shy in real life, and quite often find myself saying the wrong thing or being misunderstood.
If you fancy meeting up somewhere for a cuppa then that would be brill. Merseyside isn't that far away - I spent many a happy hour working in Liverpool a few years ago. I'd love to come and spend some time shopping, espesh in that new One shopping area. It would be nice to see how its all changed. If you fancy meeting up just PM me. Don't worry about being shy. Im a shy person myself, and get really nervous when I'm about to meet someone new, but as soon as we get talking about growing veg, then everything is OK.
