Bummer, I don't really know what else to say. Snowdrop, keep your head down and you'll be back in no time.

You could always come here if you need a holiday and a bit of company but then, you'd have to leave those loverly pussies behind and that aint gonna happen is it?

Oh, and here's that mahoosive hug you asked for.

thank you all - it is pants but as Spongeypants puts it - it is part of the paycheque, but that never ever helps and I am sure it is always harder for us at home - or so himself tells me!

I'll spend the time trying to sort out this stupid non-access-without-treacle to Vine so I can be in here more cos I miss it

I did a goodly number in my 23 years, never easy for the OH's, but it goes by quicker than you think.
Ahem - did you enlist at age 4 then?

Piskie, there is no doubt that its harder for those at home, we're out there busy working (drinking) and knowing what's happening.
The worst part for those at home is the not knowing.
I do empathise Mrs, I'm sure it wont be easy, but if its the first one he's done then you've both been very lucky. Did a quick maths test after my first posting, and in 23 years, I spent about 12 years abroad on either 4 or 6 month tours. That doesnt count the exercises and various jollies around the world either.

Big hugs for you from me too, I am sooooooo glad none of my family are in any of the forces. With four sons that was always a possibility. Hugs to anyone who's other half is away on duty.

Not good news but as already said, unfortunately it goes with the job.

On a different note, you've probably said before but how come you call him Snowdrop? Whenever I read it (and I know it doesn't say it!), I always read Dew Drop which is something far less pretty than the flower? No idea why but there you go.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Chin up - it'll all be over before you know it!

Look on the bright side Pisk - no smelly socks on the floor, no underpants next to the laundry bin, no seat up on the loo, no toothpaste at the wrong end of the tube, I could keep going! Plus, you get to watch what you want on telly, there'll only be half the laundry and half the washing up - what bliss!

sadly it's not the first, he has been round the hot spots several times, it just seems to be coming around quicker each time - staff shortages don'tya'know and each time is just as scary
