    You'll appreciate this story then.....

A few years back my chums were on the same record label as Tori and they used to have management meetings on a thursday and then come to my other chums' gig nights at the local venue.

One particular evening, one of the chums came back from the meeting and after the bands had played and were packing up we were sat around talking......
'Oh' he said 'I didn't tell you who we saw today'
'Who???' [my chums and other chums were always seeing the odd uninteresting famous person as they were all in the music or art business]
    'Tori Amos'
'Wow - where did you see her?'
'In the corridor of the record company offices, she was stood there looking in her handbag for something'
'What!!! And you didn't take her out for coffee? Or talk to her'
'No, we wanted to get back'

*censored as I ranted at him for 10 minutes

Years later, at the Nottingham gig, she spoke of when she first came to the UK and had no friends and put on loads of weight just going out for chips on her own. She said she would have loved to have had some chums back then.....

I've never forgiven him for not taking her out for coffee. In fact I might berate him again on Faceache later today.

Almost as bad as the night when his wife at the time, who worked at the Tate, said 'OH, guess who I took round the Tate archives today'
    'No idea..'
'Think famous film stars - 2 of them'
'Er, Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt [chuckling thinking it would be some Z rated movie stars'
'No, Steve Martin and Jack Nicholson'
'And you waited until we've been sat here for 3 hours tonight to tell us......'

*censored again as we pummelled her for not telling us earlier - the last orders bell had already rung when she remembered.....

And I'm not even going to mention that we had invites to a huge exhibition at the Tate, we should have been going on the Thursday but as MR above had the band meeting, we went on the Friday.

On the Thursday, we would have been at a sit down meal; with David Bowie and other A listers.......

*censored again for various reasons - Could have had a sit down meal with Bowie - ended up with no meal and Brian Sewell waxing lyrical in front of us most of the evening.

    Harumph.

That definitely takes some topping Andrea!

I think Brian Sewell has one of the most annoying voices there is.

Have fun, Wayne. I've got U2 AND Human League, this weekend, plus a wedding. I'm spending Sunday in bed, I tell yer!

Currently revising U2 lyrics, so I can join in! Their new album is sooooo much better than the recent stuff. They've gone back to their roots. Yah!
        Hi Sluglobber,

Are you there this Friday or Saturday? I'm there saturday. What seat are you in?

You'll find me in the hospitality suite ;-) Free tickets and a special offer on south west trains return for £10. Bargain!

On the Friday, Lottieknees. No idea what seat - quite high, near the stage. Friend has tickets!

Aw shame, i'm there on Saturday. all the seats are near-ish the stage since it is in the 360 arrangement. There is a plan on the Wembley website if you can find out which level and seating block you're in.

You've got better support bands on the Friday IMHO. for sponsorship reasons though I have to go on Saturday.

            never heard of Glasvegas though

When they did Keep on Rockin in the Free World? Superb.

Was it Brad that you saw at Reading? Love their first album - haven't heard the others.

To be entirely honest, I have absolutely nada idea of what the band were; it was about that time but I remember them being main stage and that's all.....I may have been under the influence of a substantial number of organic or non-organic substances....[maybe, definitely]...
