Yup, sad for the kids and you have to wonder what chance they will have for success in the future, but for your granddad thats just top news.
New car, new neighbours, and a loving caring granddaughter, he's got it made the old boy.

I had youths climbing over my fence and using my garden as a short cut, I put up barbed wire but the council came and told me to take it down because if someone injured them selves then they could sue me or the council, I took it down then one night a little after my wife found youths in the garden, she called the police who said they were too busy to call round. I told the police that I had put barbed wire up to stop the youths but the council had made me take it down. The police said that I had every right to use barbed wire and that if it made me feel safer then I should put it back up.
So who is right? the council or the police.

Depends on exactly how it is done!
It has to be impractical for a SMALL child to get injured on it (one too young to understand what it is), and I think you need a warning sign. It's a very vague issue......
If it is a council owned property, they can make the rules.....

Louisesgarden I think I live in the same village as your granddad and I am a detective in the police. At the moment I am waging war with the local policing team so I may be able to help. Let me know!
