    Apart from growing veg...

I'm a bellydancer, and I like to sew all my own costumes.

Growing fruit and veg (or at least attempting to) has only very recently become an interest of mine, it was only supposed to be a few herbs, but everything in the garden centre looked so appealing I thought I'd give it a go, and the more things grow, the more I'm enjoy it - hope I get some good results. Other than that I've recently started enjoying decorating cakes for family and friends, still learning, but really enjoying it, I also love photography, but my main passion is travel, I love visiting new countries, especially on tours and getting to see stuff I wouldn't normally in holiday resorts.

Monochrome photography (Steve Boyle ARPS Monochrome Photography), football (Chelsea season ticket holder), listening to music at home and going to gigs (mainly slightly obscure rock, guitar based bands old and new), play a bit of guitar (the neighbours love it, they often break my windows so they can hear me better !), drinking real ale or white wine (followed by deep philisophical conversations with anyone too polite to walk away) and playing with my two young children.

Since I retired in February I've started on the garden again. It has been sadly neglected the last couple of years but now I'm getting on top of it again. Have always loved gardening - got my Grandad to thank for that - he was a Head Gardener

I'm the Scottish Coordinator for NESSR (Northern English Springer Spaniel Rescue) so I spend a lot of time arranging home checks etc. and doing paperwork. Walking my three rescue Springers mostly on Forest Walks, photography (getting better at that) and reading.

Spend a lot of time on here as well getting tips etc.

I keep chickens, grow veg and flowers, I love to cook and preserve. Wine and beer making is next on the agenda when I have cleared out the glory hole under the stairs!! Walking dog, staring into space and daydreaming I'm also slowly getting my home decluttered and decorated.
When I have a spare minute, I go to work.

Me? Apart from boring everyone on the delights of organic gardening, also veggie cooking, falconry (and birds of prey in general), keeping chooks, and teaching meditation.

Cycling, although gardening has rather taken over this year, and I still haven't been out for a day-ride; reading, esp. classic fiction, poetry, Lit. crit., philosophy and popular science; book collecting, especially Everyman's Library and Oxford Standard Authors.
Tour of my back garden mini-orchard.

WOW what a diverse and talented lot you are!

As for me - other than the lottie, favourite alternative hobby is Jive & Swing dance - it's very addictive & I just can't keep still when I hear Swing music! In fact I quite like dance in all forms - have previously dabbled in Egyptian dance, ballroom & flamenco but Swing & Lindy Hop is definately my favourite. Met my OH at a dance - he's a Jiver. As a family we go Blokarting - a Blokart being a wonderful machine, basically a go-kart but with a mast & sail on it, but capable of going up to 50mph (not when I'm sailing it though!). Kinda like a mini land yacht. The little pic that accompanies my posts is my son sailing a Blokart on a beach.
Dabbled in Archery a while ago but have kinda lost interest in it, though OH still has his longbow.
Have also got an interest in camping & bushcraft - inevitable with two sons - we've now done two Ray Mears Bushcraft courses, which were REALLY interesting, I'd love to do more of that.
I've dabbled in scrapbooking but realise that I have the artistic talents of a housebrick, so that's that.
Ditto for playing the saxophone - though I can do a really impressive impersonation of a ship's foghorn.
Oh, and I have a dog - a gorgeous long-legged black & tan Jack Russell, that looks more like a whippet & is far too dainty & elegant to be a Jack.
Many people have eaten in my kitchen & gone on to lead normal, healthy lives.
