LL none of that is good news, losing your job especially. However, reading the threads, especially Barley Sugar's shows there is hope.

      Hi Lou

Sorry to hear about this; things always seem to come together and it sounds like you are having a bad time of it.

Fingers crossed they diagnose and can treat.

      Big hugs coming your way.

What a load of bad news all at once. However, there are some very positive postings here from people who've been down at the bottom and managed to come up again. I do hope you'll be able to tell a tale like that in a year or two.

I can't begin to imagine what you are going through Lou, I was pathetic with a just a broken foot!

Could you use your 'downtime' to do a home-study course? (OU or something), so that when you do go back to work you'll be able to continue your upwards progression?

I hope things improve for you soon and that they get you some really good pain meds in the meantime.

You poor thing. I really do feel for you, it is horrible and soo tiring being in pain all the time. About 5 years ago I had a similar problem, I thought I had pulled a muscle in my back/bum it got worse and worse until one day Mr T had to take me to casualty as I couldn't walk (they were horrible to me, another story). I had an injection into my spine under xray. It was VERY wierd but not too painful and I was alot better for about a year until the pain started to return. I had a second injection and, touch wood, am pretty much still fine. There are days when I am stiff and I do have twinges most days but life is good. About a year after this I went back to the doctor because I felt so rotton and have since been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. We moved to France and the weather here is much better for me and I now take no pills and am much happier. I haven't even told my doctor here my history, it doesn't matter anymore.

There were times when it all looked hopeless and I felt that no-one would help me. I was the same age as you and felt written off to suffering pain for the rest of my life. It will get better I am sure. Having a diagnosis is half way there.

Hang in there, it can only get better!
                  Tx

Hope things improve for you really soon, LL. I've had bad sciatica (to the floor in both legs) and thought that was bad enough. Fingers crossed they find something and repair it. Hugs. ((()))xx

So sad to hear of your problems.
I hope the medics can get your physical condition sorted but in the meantime, I hope you've taken professional advice over the job loss, Citizen's Advice could help sort out your legal rights.
Secondly, as you're feeling down (unsurprisingly) don't forget that, through your GP you can arrange counselling. Not everyone's thing but it worked for me when my marriage broke up and my Dad died all in the same week!
Good luck - and don't forget there are lots of people on here willing to listen to (well, read) your future rants if it helps you.

Did you hear about the lady who tried to cheer up her friend? She said "When I'm down in the dumps always I buy myself a new hat!"
"Oh," said the sad one, "I wondered where you got them from?"

Sorry you're feeling so miserable Lavender Lou. Hopefully the pain clinic can get things sorted out for you and you can get on to the road to recovery very soon. Thinking about you.
