how to upload a photo

hi all i see most of all of you have a photo next to your names.
i did try last night 3 times with different pics but none of them would get added it said something about th pic was the wrong type of file

It needs to be a jpg at 97kb or below.

thanks for that i was trying to upload bigger files and also different types of files but all sorted now.
