It's been really lovely reading everyone's memories- lots of aaaah moments!.
Mine are -and the smell is never quite right 'cos of todays regs.- the smell as you walk past a pub with an open door. My Grandparents had a pub in Dover and that lovely beery/smokey smell takes me right back. Also coal and coal fires as we had one when we were little and I loved tidying the hearth and being allowed to put on some more coal.
