Congrats, what a prize to win.
Aga/Rayburn definitely. Anything else I would leave to the laydeez to design, cos I am rubbish.

Thanks for all the suggestions, the kitchen is quite small.

I appreciate the comments about the granite as that was of interest to me.

Bilbo: I enter a few each month on line, spend about 30mins doing so, so I guess you could say regular folks do win.

As they say you have to be in it to win it.

Now found out it doesn't include the flooring - I'm thinking of tiles so again comments / suggestions welcome.

And thank you all for the "congrats".

I would go for sandstone tiles, but its clearly a personal choice.

          Well done, you're so lucky.

We have a v.small kitchen and re-did it fairly recently, would echo what others have said about drawers, so much easier that cupboards, though if you have room for one of those tall, pull out ones I'd go for it, my daughter has one and they're are great, so much easy access and storage for so little space. She also has a dishwasher that is in 2 halves so that you can do a small dishwash using less water.

With regard to granite tops, we had one fitted, it is a blue black mix, blue pearl, I think it was called, and I don't find it a problem, perhaps I'm not too fussy but it does just wipe down, you can also get one of the 'Method' eco friendly cleaners for granite if you want. It's great for making the bread on and pastry too!

If space is limited, make sure you don't end up with so many appliances you have nowhere for cupboards!
Get the best (for doing things YOU want to do, rather than just 'most expensive') of whatever you decide on.
Do you want a dishwasher, or would it take up space you could better use for a saucepan cupboard?
Do you want an enormous fridge, or a smaller fridge and a big freezer (you can buy separate ones that stack)?
LOTS of power points definitely. It is almost impossible to have too many power points, but remember that extra powerpoints may mean you end up having to upgrade the rest of the wiring, would that be included?
I would definitely get SOME granite-style worktop, because (as Lottieval says) it is wonderful for when you actually want to use the surface for pastry, bread, etc, but I would get a more conventional draining board, because I've yet to see a granite one that lookes nice when you actually drain things on it!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

If it's a small kitchen- then I'd go for light colours of door fronts and surface.

Also I can't get used to my tiled work surface over here..It's so noisy when I put plates/dishes down and I keep expecting to chip things...I'd go for a wooden surface! ( a nice solid oak one...that'll cost a fair bit!!!)

I also miss my small dishwasher- do try and squeeze one in if you can.
I love the idea of those draws which slide closed quietly too.

Sink with a small sink next to it ( smaller than a double sink) for rinsing plates/veg etc.
Oh- how about a built in water filter???? Franke do lovely mixer taps and sinks and water filters

Well done on your prize...tis lovely to hear some happy news!!!

Saw this a while ago and forgot to congratulate you!

Loads of great suggestions above - perhaps the company offers a design consultant to help? They may be able to offer a top ten of most-wanteds? Ideas you/we may never have thought of.

Whatever bits you choose - I'm sure you'll enjoy your brand new shiny, all-singing and dancing kitchen - just sit back and enjoy your OH pottering about in it - and the flight of pink piggies flying past your window (typical in my house)!

                    And Well Done!

                      Wow!Well Done!
Pretty much all of the above and also some drawers/cupboards that make extra use of the space's that you otherwise wouldn't reach.(like the corner ones that kind of swivel round & when closed end up in the corner....I know what I mean!))

Fabulous prize - Well done you! Definately go for those corner cupboards with the double opening doors or the pull out racking (as opposed to the carousel), and pan drawers are a godsend. I also treated myself to a Rangemaster stainless steel double oven (side by side) with 5 ring gas hob in my new kitchen - I'm in love with it!
